It is the time in which no activity occurs in the room. A five-minute interval is used to estimate the unoccupied time of the Ecobee occupancy sensor. This means that your Ecobee does not activate Smart Home or Smart Away until five minutes have passed. On your thermostat, you can turn on Smart Home and Smart Away to save on your energy costs when you are away and can ensure increased comfort when you are at home. For example, When you change your schedule or your diary, your Ecobee will adjust automatically to save you energy and keep your home comfortable.
