MSA07 is a battery-powered human presence sensor combining PIR infrared detection and FMCW radar technologies (dual-technology detection), based on a planar lens antenna design. With high antenna gain and a wide sensing angle of up to 130°, combined with Merrytek’s proprietary software algorithms, it can accurately detect subtle motion caused by human vital signs (breathing) in almost any indoor space while powered by a coin-cell battery, and integrate with the Tuya ecosystem — providing fast and accurate front-end sensing input for human-presence Tuya smart home automation scenes.
- Dual-technology (PIR + FMCW radar) presence detection of stationary persons via breathing/vital-sign sensing
- Accurately outputs occupied/vacant status
- Accurately outputs ambient illuminance
- Access to the Tuya smart home ecosystem via the Tuya Zigbee module
- International 24 GHz ISM-band millimeter-wave radar
- Maximum motion detection range: 0–6 m; maximum presence detection range: 0–4 m
- Supports side-wall magnetic mounting and 3M adhesive mounting
- Sensing parameters configurable via the Tuya App
- Smart perception based on dual-technology of passive infrared (PIR) and millimeter-wave radar
- Ultra-low RF transmit power, harmless to human health

This millimeter-wave radar sensor detects human motion, micro-motion, and presence signals, enabling detection of human presence (occupied/vacant) in non-sleep states. The definitions are as follows:
Major motion signal: detects significant body movement (walking) within the detection area.
Minor motion signal: detects small-amplitude body movements within the detection area, such as leaning forward/backward, limb movement, head shaking, typing, or using a phone.
Micro motion signal: detects the vital-sign signal caused by human breathing (abdominal and chest expansion/contraction), with no motion or micro-motion signal detected.
Presence: significant movement (walking), micro-motion (leaning forward/backward, limb movement, head shaking, typing, using a phone, etc.), or the presence signal caused by human breathing (abdominal/chest expansion and contraction) is detected within the detection area.
Absence: no signal is detected within the detection area.
Illuminance report: when the ambient light changes beyond the configured illuminance difference threshold, an illuminance value report is sent.
Sensitivity, indicator LED, delay time, and other parameters can be configured via the Tuya App.
The sensor supports human presence detection and illuminance detection, which can be used with associated conditions to automate the control of other devices.

When power-up, the indicator LED blinks for 10 seconds and then turns off. During the initialization period, the sensor does not detect external motion signals. Delay time, sensing distance, sensitivity and other sensing parameters can be configured via the Tuya Smart App.
- Sensing range: 6 m motion / 4 m presence
- Delay Time: 45S
- Indicator Light: On
- Sensitivity: Medium
1. Sensor shall be installed and wired by a professional electrician
2. There shall be no high-power electrical appliance or high-power wireless device around our sensor to avoid interference and false triggers
3. Sensor clearance shall be longer than 2m if there are many sensors in your installation room
4. The sensor shall NOT be installed on shaking objects, and there shall be NO large metal, water pipeline, air draft, or ventilation system around our sensor to avoid interference and false triggers
5. There shall be NO strong lighting around our sensor to avoid daylight sensor false detection
6. The above sensor detection area data is based on 165cm high and 65kg heavy test people walking towards the sensor in a 41㎡ open area for your reference. When the sensor is installed in a different environment with a different test person, the real detection data might differ.
